Locate your radial artery on the underside of your wrist. Use an index finger (not a thumb) to feel for a pulse. This pulse indicates the radial artery. (Ignore the blood veins close to the surface; they have no discernable pulse.) If you find the artery, mark it with a pen. Otherwise, mark the wrist where the artery should be, as shown in the photo below.
Mark the ulnar artery, as shown in the photo below.
Dip the probes (with their white fabric coverings) in the small bottle (included) of salt water; or you can apply conducive gel to them. This improves the conduction of the current from the probes to the skin. (Jenny uses conducive gel, because she finds the salt solution irritating. I use the salt solution because it gives stronger current.)
You can use ordinary salt, or sea salt. Conductive gel is available at most drug stores, or online, for example under the name "Spectra 360."
To make the salt water solution, fill the bottle mostly full of water (or nano-silver water), then add a teaspoon of salt. Mix until the salt is dissolved. Nano-silver in the salt water will help prevent the growth of bacteria in the salt water. (Making Nano-Silver)
The wrappers should be soaking wet, but not dripping wet. And make sure that the area of skin between the two probe-wrappers is dry. If this area of skin is wet, some of the current will leak between the probe-wrappers, rather than going down into the arteries.
Wrap the black strap around your wrist.
Place the probes under the wist strap, on your radial and ulnar arteries.
Before turning the unit on, adjust the output current to the minimum, by rotating the black attenuator dial counter-clockwise. This will prevent the probes giving you a surprise jolt (shock) as you turn the unit on.
Please be careful when attaching the battery clip to the battery terminals. Do not touch the clip to the terminals with the wrong polarity - positive to negative.
To turn the unit off:
Un-snap the battery clip from the battery terminals.
Video: Using the Blood Cleaner
Turn the Attenuator Dial slowly clockwise until you feel a slight tingling. Never exceed the comfort level.
Where you set the dial for your comfort level is a matter of personal preference. Some people feel the tingling at the weakest power level, and other people feel the tingling near the max power level. In essence, some people have thicker skin, or dryer and less conductive skin. The ambient humidly is also a factor. So some days you will need more current than other days.
If you can't feel any tingling, see Troubleshooting.
If the current is uncomfortable, even with the dial set all the way counter-clockwise, (very unlikely) then place an extra piece of fabric (or two) on your wrist, under the wrappers. to further insulate them from the current.
Periodically adjust the position of the probes to ensure they are directly over the radial and ulnar arteries.
If the wrappers dry out, remove them and re-wet. Some people like to keep the probes in place and use an eye dropper to re-wet the wrappers.
If the saltwater soaked wrappers cause skin irritation, you can instead apply conductive gel to the wrappers, rather than saltwater.
By our definition, a full Blood Cleaning course extends to 30 days, using the BC daily for one hour. However, a person should begin with only ten minutes the first day. Then on subsequent days, increase the time gradually over the next week or so, until you reach an hour per day. You can do one or two courses per year, as necessary or when desired.
What Is It, and What To Do About It?
If using the Blood Cleaner makes you sick, or gives you a runny nose, hay fever, a cold or even flu - you have bonked. And that particular illness was not caused by germs. Its not even an illness. Instead, your body is simply mimicking an illness with much the same symptoms, as it attempts to expel a flood of dead pathogens (killed by the Blood Cleaner) by it's only available means: phlegm, a runny nose, sneezing, a fever perhaps, and so forth. Most common is a runny nose, as the system is trying to expel mucus that contains a host of dead microorganisms.
We call this bonking, and it's caused by using the Blood cleaner for too much time per daily session. If you experience this, you should quit using the Blood Cleaner for a few days - or as long as the body takes to quit expelling mucus. And meanwhile, be sure to drink lots of water throughout the day.
Only when the symptoms subside should you resume the BC course. And then with less time per day while drinking plenty of water - until you can remain symptom free.
We have borrowed the term "Bonking" from runners. Their use means to run out of energy, or to "hit the Wall." Our use means to make yourself sick or somewhat ill by using the Blood Cleaner for too much time at the beginning of a course, thereby killing more pathogens than the body can safely flush. And also failing to drink enough water. Bonking is related to "Jarisch–Herxheimer reaction," also known as "Herxing"
The surface of your skin has a lot of oils, particles of dirt, and dead cells. Over time, these will contaminate the Wrist Strap and BC Probes. We suggest you wash the Wrist Strap every now and then. First, remove the Battery and the circuit board. Then you can hand-wash the the Wrist Strap in a sink with warm water and soap. Alternately, you can put the strap into a front-loading washing machine. If you try to use a top-loading machine, the wrist strap will merely float on the surface. Then air-dry. Do not use a clothes dryer, because the heat might damage the strap.
The cotton wrappers can be washed by hand, with warm water and soap. Simply massage by hand, to work the soap in and out. An old, soft toothbrush can be used for additional scrubbing. Please note, however, that the wires are fragile and must be treated with great care. It's OK to get them wet, but be very careful not to bend them, or pull on them.
What you have learned so far:
1) Your blood is likely to have a high pathogen count. This is normal but not beneficial.
2) The Blood Cleaner is a high power device, so it must be used with great care.
3) The Blood Cleaner is extremely good at killing pathogens.
4) The body has a limited ability to expel a flood of dead pathogens from the blood.
5) There is a whole host of complaints a person can experience when bonking, but the runny nose or cold-like systems are the most common. And they all indicate the body is overloaded with dead or deactivated pathogens (killed by the BC) and that the body is trying to get rid of.
